Skincare Routine Meme

-How many times do you wash your face daily?

Two times. Once in the morning and once at night before sleeping, to remove the make-up ;)

-What skin type do you have? (dry, oil, combo)

It's complicated :P I get oily skin in the summer, and very dry skin during winter and of course I still get some acne on my chin. Plus I do have Keratosis Pilaris on my body.... It is such a pain...

-What is your current facial wash?
I use the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser. I smells great and does a good job at making my face feel clean and fresh :) Bonus: No parabens and  you can get it for 7.49 $ at drugstores :)

Do you exfoliate?

Yes, I use Neutrogena's Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming scrub :) I LOVE this product! It smells great and I'll use it when my skin is peeling, to get rid of dead skin. No parabens again and also 7.49 $ at drugstores :)

-What body scrub do you use?

I use the St-Ives Abricot Scrub. It smells amazing and it really does the job.  Bonus: No parabens or phtalates. You can get it for 7.49 at  drugstores :)

-What moisturizer do you use?
For my face I use the Dermaglow daily moisturizing cream that you can get at drugstores for 45.00 $, and for my body I use the Beurre de Lune, from Opus Dermacare, that you can get for 17.25 at online at opusdermacare.com. Both of them don't have Parabens.

-Do you have freckles?

Just a couple on each cheek. They don't bother me :)

-Do you use eye cream?

No. :) I could review some if you request it but I really don't use them.

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

Yes, still do. Especially on my T-zone. It gets oily and breaks out easily. Stress periods are acne periods too :P Another reason to loathe exams XD

-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?

No. I don't trust these "miracle" products...

The Body Shop: Body Butter

This is yet another body butter :P I just love butters :) somehow lotions are too liquid too my liking ;)

And for the price of this one, you'll want to give it a shot! I got a big container of the olive smell :)

I love this packaging ! It's just a big jar of awesome :)
  • ingredients: Water (Solvent/Diluent), Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil (Emollient), Cyclomethicone (Emollient), Cocoa (Theobroma Cacao) Butter (Emollient), Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii) (Emollient), Glycerin (Humectant), Glyceryl Stearate (Emulsifier), PEG-100 Stearate (Surfactant), Cetearyl Alcohol (Emulsifier), Lanolin Alcohol (Stabiliser/Emollient), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Fragrance (Fragrance), Methylparaben (Preservative), Propylparaben (Preservative), Xanthan Gum (Viscosity Modifier), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Caramel (Colour), Colour.
PARABENS.... ya... Not something I want to have in my creams... I try to avoid them becuase they have been linked to cancer. I'm not obsessed with these things but for this I can afford to be picky :P

  • texture: 4/5 (with time, starts to become a little mushy)
  • smell: very good but very strong too... so mixed feelings (favorite: olive)
  • skin absorption: good (leaves oily film that disappears fast)
  • bonus: hydrates really well
  • size: 200 ml
  • price: 18.00 $

A pretty good low-priced butter, that smells strong but good and absorbs well.

It does have parabens.... that's enough to make me pay a little more for one that doesn't have them...

Not the best but they have a lot of variety so you might as well try one if you're not picky about parabens :)

Dermaglow: Daily Moisturizing cream

This was a lucky pick from the drugstore :) It hydrates well, although it's a little oily but not enough to stop using it :)
The tube :) Almost empty!!!

  • ingredients:

    • Canadian mineral clay
    • Horse chesnut
    • Shea butter
    • Bisabolol
That's the only list of ingredients I could find because the ingredients are not on the tube.... -__-
I'm guessing these are only the active ingredients... Nothing but good stuff in there :)

can't make a call on the  inactive ones...

  • texture: 5/5
  • smell: ok... nothing special
  • skin absorption: good (leaves oily film for a while)
  • bonus: hydrates really well
  • size: 50 ml
  • price: 45.00 $
  • available at: drugstore
Because of the oily film it leaves behind I only put it at night.

They should really change this pump though! it's really bad... I literally have to  pump 10 times to get something to come out...

The only real downside to this cream is the price... ouf...

But overall a good investment. Really great after exfoliating.

Worth a try :)

Cetaphil: Daily Facial Moisturizer (sensitive skin)

I get really dry skin in my face during winter. I just thought I'd get a face moisturizer from the drugstore and I'd be fine....  so I got Cetaphil's Daily facial moisturizer for sensitive skin. Right off the bat, I have to tell you it wasn't a bad cream.... all in all it was ok but I got a bad reaction from it after 1 use....God knows what I reacted to... but my instinct is that if I'm getting a reaction on my sensitive skin, then there's something wrong with the ingredients...

Pump with lock mechanism
  • ingredients:

-Active ingredients: avobenzone 3%, octocrylene 10%
-Inactive ingredients: water, diisopropyl adipate, cyclomethicone, glycerin, glyceryl stearate, PEG-100 stearate, polymethyl methacrylate, phenoxyethanol, benzyl alcohol, acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, tocopheryl acetate, carbomer 940, disodium EDTA, triethanolamine.
No parabens + no SLS + no fragrance + no oil + SPF 15
No ingredients pop out as being toxic / hazardous....
  • texture: 5/5
  • smell: none
  • skin absorption: very good
  • bonus: no oily feeling (it's an oil-free cream)
  • size:120 ml
  • price: 22.38 $
  • available at:  drugstores
So all in all not a bad cream but had me break out badly so not trying this one ever again....

Opus Dermacare : Beurre de Lune (Body Butter)

Ok! let's start off with my personal favorite butter! :) I have already tried sooo many "body butters" but the only one that actually IS a butter is the one from Opus Dermacare : Beurre de Lune. I got mine online after a friend recommended them :) Thanks Cassie!

That's what the small size looks like :) I got a small one just to try it out but I'll definitely be getting the big one :P

  • ingredients: Water, Cetearyl Alcohol and Ceteareth-20, Glycerin, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Beeswax, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Dimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate and PEG-100 , Stearate, Buxus Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil, Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopherol (Vitamine E), Carbomer, Sodium Citrate, Caramel, Fragrance, Germaben II.
No parabens + No SLS. In short, no problem with these ingredients!
  • texture: 5/5
  • smell: 5/5 (my favorite: grapefruit- the smell is amazing!!)
  • skin absorption: good
  • bonus: no oily, sticky feeling... I know they all say that but for once it's actually true....
  • size: 75 ml / 236 ml
  • price: 17.25 $ / 49.55 $
Seriously worth a try!
